Lol Coxhill (1932–2012) was a British soprano and sopranino saxophonist known for his work in free improvisation and avant-garde jazz. Active from the 1960s onward, he became recognizable as a street performer on London's South Bank and collaborated with a wide range of musicians, including Kevin Ayers, Fred Frith, and the Dedication Orchestra. Coxhill released numerous albums on labels such as Emanem and Ogun, and his playing encompassed idiomatic jazz, free improvisation, and experimental rock.
