Lutrine Opossum (Lutreolina crassicaudata) is a South American didelphid marsupial with a robust body, a thick tail, and a strong association with water. Its range includes parts of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, Paraguay, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela, and northern Argentina, where it uses wet grasslands, savannas, gallery forests, and areas near permanent water. The species is a useful subject for studying semiaquatic adaptation among American marsupials and is assessed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
