description MechCommander 2 Overview

MechCommander 2 is a 2001 real-time tactics game developed by FASA Studio and published by Microsoft for Windows. Set in the BattleTech universe, it places the player in command of customizable BattleMech units during missions involving combat, reconnaissance, salvage, and resource management. Unlike the turn-based tabletop game, battles unfold continuously from an overhead perspective. Microsoft later released portions of the game's source code in 2006 under a shared-source license.
