Mormond Stag

description Mormond Stag Overview

The Mormond Stag is a hill figure of a stag located on Mormond Hill in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Unlike many English hill figures cut into chalk, the figure is constructed from white quartz stones embedded in the hillside. A second hill figure, the Mormond White Horse, is situated nearby on the same hill. The stag is one of relatively few animal hill figures in Scotland and is visible from the surrounding Aberdeenshire landscape.
