description Mulga Lands Overview

The Mulga Lands are an Australian bioregion and ecoregion extending across inland Queensland and northwestern New South Wales. They consist largely of dry sandy plains, shrublands, and open woodlands dominated by mulga, especially Acacia aneura. Rainfall is low and variable, and the region is ecologically distinct from the more fertile grasslands and savannas that surround it.
