description Musketeer Chess Overview
Musketeer Chess is a modern chess variant invented by Tunisian designer Zied Haddad. It is played on a standard 8×8 chessboard but introduces a selection phase in which each player chooses an additional fairy chess piece from a pool that includes pieces such as the Leopard, Hawk, Elephant, and Chancellor. These selected pieces are introduced during play through a defined drop mechanism, adding layers of complexity to opening strategy and piece coordination.
