description Narayanhiti Palace Overview
Narayanhiti Palace is a former royal residence in Kathmandu, Nepal, and the former seat of the country's monarchy. It became closely associated with the 2001 Nepalese royal massacre, in which King Birendra and several members of the royal family were killed. After Nepal became a republic in 2008, the palace was converted into the Narayanhiti Palace Museum, which preserves rooms and objects linked to royal life.
