NextDNS

NextDNS applies filtering at the DNS layer, where devices look up the addresses associated with domain names. Its web dashboard lets users choose blocklists and set rules for categories such as advertising, tracking and adult content. Allow and deny lists provide more specific control, making the service relevant to households and technically minded users who want to manage domain access. A configured router can extend those rules to devices using its DNS settings, while individual devices can also be configured separately.

Coverage depends on the actual setup, since applications or devices using another resolver may bypass those rules. DNS filtering also cannot distinguish every piece of content served from the same allowed domain.
