description NGC 2452 Overview
NGC 2452 is a planetary nebula in the southern constellation Puppis. John Herschel discovered it in 1847, and catalogues place it about 15,000 light-years from Earth, separate from the nearby open cluster NGC 2453 even though the two objects appear close together in the sky. Its central star has the hydrogen-deficient [WO1] spectral classification, marking it as a hot stellar remnant at the centre of the nebula.
