description Nokia N-Gage Overview

The Nokia N-Gage is a hybrid mobile phone and handheld game console released by Nokia in October 2003, running the Symbian OS with the Series 60 interface. It attempted to merge mobile telephony with portable gaming, offering multiplayer play over cellular networks and Bluetooth, but its hardware drew criticism: users had to hold the device edge-on to make calls, the screen was small and portrait-oriented, and changing game cards required removing the battery. A revised model, the N-Gage QD, followed in 2004, and the name later continued as a digital gaming service for Nokia smartphones.
