description Oberon Overview

Oberon, or The Elf King's Oath is a three-act English-language opera by Carl Maria von Weber, with a libretto by James Robinson Planché. Commissioned for London and premiered at Covent Garden in 1826, it was Weber's final opera and combines spoken dialogue with musical numbers in the manner of English stage works of its period.
