Octopus conispadiceus is a marine octopus of the family Octopodidae, also known by the common name chestnut octopus. Madoka Sasaki described it in 1917 from Japanese material, and the accepted species is associated with cold-temperate waters of the northwestern Pacific, especially around northern Japan and the Kuril Islands. It is a benthic shelf species recorded from sandy or muddy bottoms at roughly 50 to 100 meters depth.
