description Ord River Delta Overview

The Ord River Delta is a large estuarine river delta located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, where the Ord River empties into the Cambridge Gulf. The delta forms the terminus of a massive river system that has been heavily modified by the construction of dams, including the massive Lake Argyle. It is directly associated with the Ord River Irrigation Area, a major agricultural scheme established near the town of Kununurra to support regional farming.
