Does the OWC Envoy Express include an SSD?

No. Envoy Express is a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure, and the buyer installs a compatible M.2 NVMe SSD separately. Capacity, endurance, and much of the final price therefore depend on the selected drive.

How fast is the Envoy Express?

OWC rates the enclosure for real-world transfer speeds up to roughly 1,500 MB/s, depending on the installed SSD and host computer. That is below the theoretical 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 link because the enclosure and NVMe interface impose practical limits.

Will Envoy Express work through an ordinary USB-C port?

It requires a Thunderbolt 3 or compatible Thunderbolt/USB4 host connection and is not a generic USB-only enclosure. A USB-C connector alone does not prove that a computer supports Thunderbolt.

Can the Envoy Express mount behind a laptop screen?
