Pacific 1860

description Pacific 1860 Overview

Pacific 1860 is a musical by British composer and playwright Noël Coward. First staged in 1946, it was Coward's first major stage work after the Second World War and was mounted at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. The story is set on the Pacific island of Papeete in the nineteenth century and combines romantic drama with musical comedy. Its large-scale production made it one of Coward's more ambitious theatrical projects.
