Park Young-seok was a South Korean mountaineer and polar explorer who climbed all fourteen mountains higher than 8,000 meters. He also reached both the North Pole and South Pole and completed the Seven Summits, a combination of achievements sometimes described as an Explorers Grand Slam. His expeditions placed him among the prominent South Korean high-altitude climbers of his generation; he disappeared during a 2011 attempt on a new route on Annapurna.
