Pholidoteuthis adami is a large deep-sea squid in the family Pholidoteuthidae, commonly called the pink scaled squid or Western Atlantic scaled squid. Its skin bears scale-like tubercles, and its fins extend posteriorly to form a triangular tail, features that distinguish it from the related Pholidoteuthis massyae. It is recorded in the western Atlantic, including the Gulf of Mexico and waters extending south toward the Río de la Plata, where it inhabits bathyal depths.
