description Physcia tenella Overview
Physcia tenella is a small foliose lichen in the family Physciaceae with pale gray, loosely attached lobes, white mottling, marginal cilia, and terminal soralia. Unlike the similar Physcia adscendens, its lobe ends are not inflated into hoods. It commonly grows on nutrient-rich bark, twigs, and tree trunks, including in urban areas, and may occur less often on walls and rocks.
