Playa Nacascolo

Playa Nacascolo is a scenic beach situated in the Gulf of Papagayo, within Costa Rica's Guanacaste province. It is located on the Pacific coast, specifically inside the highly developed Papagayo Tourism Project concession zone. The area is famous for its calm, clear waters and luxury resorts.

While it is located within a large tourism development concession, all beaches in Costa Rica are legally public domain. However, because it sits within the Papagayo Tourism Project, access can sometimes be confusing as roads are gated. Visitors can generally access the beach by arriving by boat or walking through designated public access points.

The beach is characterized by its sheltered, sandy shoreline, making it an excellent spot for swimming and snorkeling. The calm, clear waters of the Gulf of Papagayo are perfect for observing local marine life. The cove is also a popular departure point for sunset catamaran cruises.

Playa Nacascolo is located on the Nicoya Peninsula in Guanacaste, a short drive from the Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia. Most visitors access the beach by driving through the Papagayo Peninsula resort area or by taking a water taxi from nearby public beaches like Playa Hermosa. Parking and access may require coordination with local guides or resorts.
