PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG)

PUBG was first released into early access in 2017 and quickly became a massive global phenomenon. It was developed by the studio now known as PUBG Studios. The game's early access period on Steam broke numerous concurrent player records.

Players are dropped onto a large map where they must scavenge for weapons and survival equipment. To force continuous encounters, a shrinking safe zone continually reduces the playable area over time. The last player or team standing alive at the end of the match wins.

The game was developed by the South Korean developer PUBG Studios. The project was originally spearheaded by Brendan Greene, widely known by his online alias 'PlayerUnknown'. The studio operates as a subsidiary of the larger video game holding company Krafton.

To win a match, commonly referred to by the community as a 'Winner Winner Chicken Dinner,' players must be the last ones alive. They must survive the shrinking safe zone while fighting off up to 99 other players in a standard lobby. Strategy, quick looting, and positioning are essential to securing the final kill.
