Predaea huismanii

description Predaea huismanii Overview

Predaea huismanii is a marine red alga in the family Nemastomataceae. Kraft described it in 1984 from material collected by phycologist John M. Huisman at Rottnest Island, Western Australia; later records placed it beyond the type locality, including the Canary Islands and other Indo-Pacific sites. It forms erect, compressed, gelatinous red blades with irregular branching and lobes, and has been recorded from subtidal habitats.
