description Puschkinia Overview

Puschkinia is a small genus of spring-flowering bulbous plants native to the Caucasus, eastern Turkey, and parts of western Asia. Its flowers are usually pale blue or nearly white, often with darker blue stripes along the petals or tepals. The genus was named in honor of the Russian chemist and naturalist Count Apollos Mussin-Pushkin, and it contains only a small number of recognized species, depending on the taxonomic treatment.
