Raymond Sommer was a French racing driver who competed in Grand Prix and sports-car racing before and immediately after the Second World War. He shared victory with Luigi Chinetti in the 1932 24 Hours of Le Mans and won the race again in 1933 with Tazio Nuvolari. In the inaugural Formula One World Championship season of 1950, Sommer drove a Talbot-Lago and finished fourth at Monaco before earning a podium at the Belgian Grand Prix.
