It is designed to act as the primary router because the base station contains an eero Wi-Fi 6 router. Ring recommends connecting it to the modem as the gateway rather than treating it as an ordinary extender behind a non-eero router.
Does Ring Alarm Pro use Zigbee for its alarm sensors?
Ring Alarm contact sensors, motion detectors and range extenders primarily communicate with the hub over Z-Wave. The Alarm Pro also includes Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth for setup and cellular connectivity, so describing it simply as a Zigbee hub is misleading.
What keeps Ring Alarm Pro working when the internet fails?
With an eligible Ring subscription, its built-in cellular connection can provide backup connectivity for the alarm and, under the applicable plan, the eero network. The internal battery preserves limited security functions during an outage, while optional Ring Power Packs extend full-feature operation.
Can Ring Alarm Pro store camera video locally?
