The Fat Straight Tail has a thicker body, giving it a larger profile and more plastic around the hook than the standard finesse version. That extra bulk makes it particularly useful for Texas rigs and shaky heads as well as drop-shot presentations.

It can be nose-hooked for open water or rigged weedless when fishing around grass and cover. The 4.5-inch and 6-inch versions are common drop-shot sizes, with the larger bait offering a more visible profile.

Roboworm molds salt into the soft plastic so salt is released when a fish compresses or bites the lure. The company says this encourages a bass to hold the bait longer, giving the angler more time to detect the strike.

Natural layered colors such as Aaron's Magic and variations of green pumpkin are common clear-water choices. Brighter patterns such as Morning Dawn or darker purple tones can provide more visibility when light penetration or water clarity is reduced.
