Ryan ST-A Special

description Ryan ST-A Special Overview

The Ryan ST-A Special was an American two-seat, low-wing sport and aerobatic monoplane developed from the Ryan ST series during the 1930s. It used tandem open cockpits, a fixed conventional landing gear, and a 150 hp supercharged Menasco C-4S inline engine, giving it more performance than earlier versions of the design. The aircraft was intended for private sport flying, training, and aerobatics, and its streamlined metal airframe became characteristic of the series.
