The arena features a groundbreaking movable seating and roofing system that allows the interior space to be reconfigured for different event types. This system can adjust the venue's capacity from roughly 5,000 to 37,000 spectators. The mechanism allows entire sections of seating to be shifted or hidden, making it one of the most versatile arenas in the world.

The venue hosts a wide range of events including professional wrestling (such as NJPW events), MMA (Rizin and formerly PRIDE FC), concerts, and NBA Japan Games. It has also hosted figure skating competitions and major music tours by international artists. Its flexibility makes it suitable for everything from intimate concerts to massive sporting events.

The arena is located in Chuo-ku, Saitama City, Japan, and opened in 2000. It is directly connected to Saitama-Shintoshin Station on the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line, making it easily accessible from central Tokyo. The trip from Tokyo Station takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes.

At its largest configuration, the arena can accommodate approximately 37,000 people. However, because of its movable seating system, the capacity can be scaled down to as few as 5,000 for more intimate events.
