description San Mateo County Courthouse Overview
The San Mateo County Courthouse is the former 1910 courthouse on Broadway in downtown Redwood City, California, now occupied by the San Mateo County History Museum. Designed by Glenn Allen in Roman and Renaissance Revival styles, it was known as the Temple of Justice and incorporated a dome that survived the 1906 earthquake. Its restored facade and domed interior are preserved as part of the museum, while active county court facilities operate at the County Government Center.
