Schaereria fuscocinerea is a crustose, rock-dwelling lichen in the family Schaereriaceae. It forms gray to gray-brown or nearly black areolate thalli, often bordered by a black prothallus, on hard siliceous rocks in exposed habitats. The species has a circumpolar, arctic-alpine to boreal-montane distribution. Georges Clauzade and Claude Roux transferred it from Lecidea to Schaereria in 1985.
