Schäftlarn Abbey is a Benedictine monastery located south of Munich on the banks of the Isar in Bavaria, Germany, with origins dating to the 8th century. Its Baroque church and monastic complex were rebuilt in the 18th century under the direction of the architect François de Cuvilliés. The abbey was refounded in the 19th century after secularization and continues to operate as an active Benedictine community and educational institution.
