Seamus Blake is a British-born jazz saxophonist, born in 1970 and raised in Canada, who is principally known as a tenor saxophone player. After studying at Berklee College of Music, he established himself in New York's jazz scene and performed with artists and ensembles including John Scofield and the Mingus Big Band. His work as a leader and sideman combines post-bop improvisation with contemporary composition and is directed toward listeners of modern acoustic jazz.
