Snowpatch Spire Southeast Corner

Southeast Corner climbs Snowpatch Spire in the Bugaboos of British Columbia, Canada. It is also known as the Snowpatch Route or Wiessner's Route.

The route is commonly listed as 5.8 in the Yosemite Decimal System. It is still an alpine climb, so approach, weather, route-finding, and descent add difficulty beyond the hardest technical move.

The alternate name connects the route with climber Fritz Wiessner, whose name is attached to the historic line. Guidebooks may use Southeast Corner, Snowpatch Route, or Wiessner's Route for the same route.

Climbing references commonly describe it as a long multi-pitch alpine route, with reports listing roughly 1,500 feet of climbing. Parties also have to manage the Bugaboos approach and the snow or ice conditions around Snowpatch Spire.
