description Songaksan Overview
Songaksan is a coastal tuff cone on the southwestern coast of Jeju Island, South Korea. It was formed by hydrovolcanic eruptions, in which rising magma interacted with seawater or wet surface sediments, producing layers of volcanic ash and tuff. The resulting landform has a broad coastal profile, an inner crater, and steeply exposed strata along parts of the shoreline. Paths around the cone are used for walking and sightseeing.
