description Suwolbong Overview
Suwolbong is a volcanic tuff cone on the western coast of Jeju Island, South Korea. It formed during the Pleistocene through hydrovolcanic eruptions, in which rising magma interacted with water or wet coastal sediments. Marine erosion has cut into the cone and exposed well-layered tuff, including cross-sections of the deposits along the shoreline, making Suwolbong useful for studying Jeju's volcanic history.
