Speedball C0 Nib

The C0 is the broadest member of Speedball's C-series and produces extremely heavy strokes suited to oversized lettering. Actual letter width depends on the script proportions and pen angle rather than the nib alone.

Its broad, flat edge works well for large Roman capitals, Italic, Gothic, uncial, and poster alphabets. It is less suitable for Copperplate because it creates contrast through edge direction rather than pointed-nib pressure.

Smooth, well-sized marker or calligraphy paper helps prevent the C0's broad strokes from feathering and bleeding. Thin copier paper often struggles because this large nib lays down much more ink than a normal writing pen.

C-series nibs use a reservoir to hold additional ink above the writing edge. Correctly adjusted, it lets the C0 draw longer broad strokes between dips than a bare flat nib would.
