description Splendor Overview

Splendor is a strategy board game where players collect gem tokens and develop wooden engine parts to score points, aiming to be the first to reach fifteen points through tableau building and card acquisitions.

help Splendor FAQ

What do the gem cards in Splendor actually do?

Each purchased development card provides a permanent gem discount for later purchases and may also award prestige points. Building these discounts is the game's central engine-building mechanic.

When does a game of Splendor end?

The end of the game is triggered when a player reaches at least 15 prestige points. The current round is completed so every player has taken the same number of turns, and the highest score wins.

How do nobles work in Splendor?

A noble visits automatically when a player's permanent card bonuses meet its requirements. Each noble tile is worth 3 prestige points, and only one can visit a player during a turn.

Can two people play Splendor without changing the rules?

Splendor supports two to four players, but the token supply and number of available nobles change with player count. The core actions of taking gems, reserving a card or buying a development remain the same.
