The spotted moray (Gymnothorax moringa) is a marine moray eel of the western Atlantic, ranging from the southeastern United States and Bermuda through the Caribbean and along the coast of Brazil. It is usually found in shallow rocky habitats, seagrass areas, and coral reefs, with its head protruding from a shelter. The pale body carries overlapping dark spots, and the species feeds on fish and crustaceans, often becoming active during the day.
