description Supertree Grove Overview

The Supertree Grove is a collection of 18 vertical garden structures ranging from 25 to 50 meters in height, located within the Gardens by the Bay nature park in Singapore. Designed by Grant Associates, the structures are fitted with photovoltaic cells that harvest solar energy and feature thousands of plants from ferns to orchids planted on their exterior surfaces. The grove hosts a nightly light and sound show called "Garden Rhapsody."

help Supertree Grove FAQ

How many Supertrees are in Singapore's Supertree Grove?

Gardens by the Bay contains 18 Supertrees, with structures ranging from about 25 to 50 meters tall. Twelve are concentrated in the main Supertree Grove, while the others stand elsewhere in the gardens.

Can visitors go to the top of the Supertrees?

Visitors can use the OCBC Skyway, an elevated walkway linking two Supertrees, for views over the gardens and Marina Bay. The tallest structure also contains the Supertree Observatory, which provides an even higher viewing point.

Are the Supertrees living trees or artificial structures?

They are engineered vertical-garden structures covered with living plants, including climbers, ferns, bromeliads, and orchids. Some also support environmental systems such as photovoltaic panels or air-exhaust functions for the nearby conservatories.

What happens during the Garden Rhapsody show?

Garden Rhapsody is an evening light-and-music presentation that illuminates the Supertrees in synchronized patterns. It takes place in the Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay, although performance times and programs can change seasonally.
