Synchronous Chess

description Synchronous Chess Overview

Synchronous Chess is a chess variant in which both players choose their moves secretly and reveal or execute them at the same time. Because neither player sees the opponent's selected move before committing to their own, ordinary ideas about check, capture, and tactical threats require variant-specific interpretation. The format changes opening preparation and places greater emphasis on anticipating the opponent's intentions.
