The Taiga Bean Goose (Anser fabalis) is a large species of waterfowl that breeds in the taiga, or boreal forest zones, of Scandinavia and northern Russia. It is distinguished from similar species by its relatively large body size and a long, narrow bill that usually displays broad orange markings. During the winter months, the bird migrates to agricultural areas and wetlands across Europe. It is a protected game species in several European countries.
