description Telescope Array Overview
The Telescope Array is a large hybrid experiment for detecting ultra-high-energy cosmic rays in the desert west of Delta, Utah. Its original surface detector array covers about 700 square kilometres, with detector stations spaced roughly 1.2 kilometres apart, and it is complemented by fluorescence telescopes that observe light from atmospheric air showers. Combining these systems allows researchers to estimate the energy, direction, and development of cosmic-ray events.
