Telmo Zarra (1921–2006) was a Basque footballer who played as a striker for Athletic Club Bilbao from 1940 to 1955, spending his entire professional career at the club. He won the Pichichi Trophy as the top scorer in La Liga on six occasions and scored over 250 goals for Athletic Bilbao. Zarra held the record for most goals scored by a player for the Spain national team for over 50 years until David Villa surpassed his total in 2011.
