The Green Book

description The Green Book Overview

The Green Book is the political treatise of Muammar Gaddafi, first published in 1975 and completed in further parts by 1979. It sets out his Third International Theory, rejecting Western liberal democracy and Marxism alike in favor of direct popular rule through people's congresses and committees, and criticizing wage labor in favor of partnerships. The text became the official ideology of Gaddafi's Jamahiriya in Libya, where it was taught in schools and cited in official life.
