description The Humans Overview

The Humans is a one-act play by Stephen Karam about three generations of the Blake family gathering for Thanksgiving in a young couple's apartment in New York City's Chinatown. As the evening unfolds, financial insecurity, illness, religious tension, and private disappointments emerge beneath ordinary family conversation. The play combines naturalistic comedy and drama with unsettling sounds and other horror-like elements, and it received the 2016 Tony Award for Best Play.
