The Klansman is a 1974 American drama film directed by Terence Young and adapted from William Bradford Huie's 1967 novel. Set in a small Alabama town, it follows Sheriff Track Bascomb, played by Lee Marvin, and landowner Breck Stancill, played by Richard Burton, as racial tension intensifies after a white woman is raped and a Black man is accused. The plot portrays the Ku Klux Klan's violent response and the breakdown of local order.
