The North Face Osito Jacket

The Osito Jacket is constructed using a lightweight, recycled polyester fleece material. It features a distinct, high-pile "silken" texture that provides excellent warmth and comfort. This specific fleece fabric is a hallmark of the Osito product line.

While the recycled polyester fleece offers some mild resistance to light moisture, the Osito is not fully waterproof. The North Face designed it primarily as an insulating layer for dry, cold-weather comfort rather than a protective rain shell. It will soak through in heavy precipitation.

It is recommended to machine wash the Osito Jacket in cold water on a gentle cycle, using a mild powder detergent. To maintain the quilted, insulated design, you should never use bleach or liquid fabric softeners. It should be hung to dry or tumble dried on low heat.

The classic North Face Osito is traditionally designed as a 1/4-zip pullover, which allows for easy temperature regulation and layering. However, The North Face has occasionally released variations of the Osito silhouette with full-zip fronts for those who prefer a standard jacket opening. Both versions utilize the same signature fleece.
