The Price

description The Price Overview

The Price is a drama by Arthur Miller, first produced on Broadway in 1968. It brings two estranged brothers together in the attic of their late father's Manhattan brownstone, where they meet a furniture dealer to dispose of the family's possessions. Their negotiations expose conflicting memories of the Great Depression, sacrifice, career choices, and family responsibility, making the play a compact examination of how people assign both monetary and moral value to the past.
