The Punisher (2017)

This series takes the Marvel character Frank Castle and strips away the superhero spectacle, focusing instead on the psychological trauma of a veteran turned vigilante. It is a grounded, brutal exploration of grief, military corruption, and the thin line between justice and vengeance. Jon Bernthals performance is the anchor, providing a raw intensity that elevates the material. While the pacing in the middle episodes can drag, the show succeeds as a character study, offering a much darker and more mature take on the comic book genre than its peers.
