Thomas J. Bouchard Jr. is an American psychologist known for research in behavioral genetics and individual differences. Beginning in 1979, he directed the Minnesota Study of Twins Reared Apart, which compared identical and fraternal twins separated early in life and raised in different households.

The study produced influential evidence about genetic and environmental contributions to intelligence, personality, interests, and other psychological traits, while also prompting debate about how heritability findings should be interpreted.
