How is the TOEFL iBT scored now?

For tests taken under the 2026 format, section and overall results use a 1-to-6 scale in half-band increments. ETS is also reporting a comparable 0-to-120 score during a two-year transition period after January 2026.

How long does the TOEFL iBT take?

ETS says the updated test takes approximately two hours, not including directions. Because the test is adaptive, the number of items and exact timing can vary.
